The 75-room hotel, which sits in a prime location overlooking the
Savannah River and the city's historic downtown district, is the sister to the AAA Four-Diamond Mansion on
Forsyth Park, which opened to high acclaim in the city a few years back.
As for that rooftop lounge at the hotel that we mentioned: it's called
Rocks on the Roof, and it promises some stunning views of the river, some fine, casual elegance and tapas. What's wrong with that?
If you prefer your hotel to have a historic vibe with a contemporary twist, you won't be disappointed by The Bohemian. Although we haven't seen the hotel quite yet, we hear its design was approved by Savannah's highly discerning historic review board, and that can't be easy. Brass, leather and finely grained wood are reportedly used throughout.
Another nice touch: Guests at the Bohemian have signing privileges at the posh Forsyth Park; there's even a shuttle running between the two hotels.
Introductory rates at The Bohemian start at $179 per night.
The hotel is a member of the Kessler Collection; you'll know them for their stylish Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, FL, their Orlando properties and The Beaver Creek Lodge in Colorado.
